OUR FIRST CATCH

One of Kenya's birthday presents was a LIVE trap. We bought a smaller trap at first, but Miles's didn't think we would catch anything with it where we lived so we bought a bigger one.

We were not able to catch anything in our neighborhood, especially without people seeing us and messing with the trap. The last time we put it out someone had thrown dog food inside. For now we will use it when we visit my parents. During our Thanksgiving break we set it up with a can of tuna fish.

Early in the morning I was up feeding Azure and I heard some loud noises, so I woke up Miles and he told me we probably caught something. About 9am we were awaken by Albert and Karli outside yelling and Albert freaking out. So we got dressed and went outside to find this.....

Karli's FAT WILD cat caught in the trap. The trap was upside down and moved sideways. The cat was running into the end of the trap over and over again trying to get out. We found out Albert was freaking out because Sally (the dog) was let off the leash. Sally was messing with the cat as it was trapped inside which made the cat even more mad. Look at it's poor little nose, it made me sad to see the cat ramming it's head into the trap over and over again.

It was Miles idea to get a trap for Kenya but I was excited for Kenya to see wild animals. If you know Miles and the things he did with animals having a wild trap is nothing. One example: when Miles was in high school during track season his long jump marker was a owl claw. He had animal furs and claws hanging on his bedroom wall.

What was left of the tuna can. Kenya had fun seeing our first catch. Even though the cat was really mad Kenya wasn't scared and had fun watching the cat. As soon as we let the cat go Sally took off running and tried to catch it.

Saturday when we got home from spending Thanksgiving with both our families. I set this little angel face down on the floor and she started to crawl. She could crawl a little before but mostly army crawled. Azure has chosen to crawl on her own (8 months) and has realized it is faster. Sometimes we see her army crawling but for the most part she is up and ready to go on all fours.
